My fascination with light, the horizon and the atmospherics resulting from changing view points culminates in ‘Wonderment’. This ‘light intrigue’ manifested from visiting Iceland both in the summer months to experience the midnight sun and the winter months in a quest to experience the Aurora Borealis. What has stayed with me is the saturation and intensity of every mark and colour which takes on a greater importance and vibrancy in the storytelling with reduced light levels. I have tried to capture this emanating power. The close tonal qualities are deliberately chosen to add to the atmospherics of distance, removal and isolation.
