“I was initially attracted to Oftentimes because of the colour and style; a blue sky with a burst of light in the centre. When I looked more closely at the painting it gave me a feeling of looking through the sky at something beyond. I felt a wave of nostalgia/melancholy and immediately thought of my dad. I can’t say I thought of heaven but there was a certain feeling of something beyond what we know.”
